Melting System Test
Melting System Test specification
- Pre-Starting
Please read these instructions thoroughly. This will make sure you obtain full safe use, Keep this instruction manual in a handy place for future reference.
- Safety precaution
Wear the thermal gloves
Wear the face shield
Keep a safe distance (1m_1.5m)
- Caution
- Never leave hot graphite crucible with metal liquid cooling in the machine naturally, otherwise it will damage the machine. grab the crucible out immediately when the melting is finished.
- Anytime when the water circulation is stopped or failure if the crucible is hot and stay in the coil. Ensure it immediately leave from the coil, otherwise the coil will be damage.
- This melting furnace must use ceramic and graphite crucible together. other kinds and shapes crucible alone, must use both or the coil might be damaged.
- Turn off the working switch before pouring the liquid metal.
- After completion of smelting, turn off the operating switch on the melting furnace. Keep the water cycle cooling system running for more than 20 seconds, then turn off the power switch on the melting furnace and water chiller.
- When use machine with pump (without chiller) for cooling, do not reuse the outlet hot water, need to change new water every time when one crucible melting finishes.

- Operation steps:
- Starting: 1: 55 pm
- Heating stage 1: 1600 watt for 3 min
- Heating stage 2: 3000 watt for 5 min
- Heating stage 3: 5000 watt for 2 min
- Putting the pieces 500 g of iron within 10 min
- Melting iron within 10 min
- Cooling of system within 10 min
- Switch of the system
- Result:
- The Iron melted within 10 min.
- Analysis of the test results:
The raison because we couldn’t get the desired disc shape was the use of unsuitable sand shape.
- What we have to do:
Repeat the experiment using a refractory sand mold.
